As I mentioned in a blog post a few days before, I want to make more of an effort to talk about what I call primary self-care. Sometimes I feel a little meh and if I don’t sort it out quickly it can spiral into weeks of feeling this way which can have a large impact on my daily life. Over the last few months, I’ve come up with a little routine that helps get me back on track. This is kind of inspired by a Muchelle B video that I watched but I can’t remember what it’s called *facepalm*.
MAKE MY BED
I don’t know about you but when my bed is made my day feels 100 times better instantly. This is one of the first things I like to do when I wake up not feeling so great because it’s such a small task but it has a huge impact on my day. It also stops me from getting back into bed and napping the day away which is something I tend to do on my bad days but it never helps me feel better.
HAVE A SHOWER
Showers are so therapeutic. When I’m showering I like to do a little meditation technique which includes me imagining that when the water goes down the drain, my worries and stresses go down the drain with it. It doesn’t solve everything obviously but it makes me feel a little better. After a shower, I feel a lot more fresh and clean.
Having a quick twenty minute tidy up session does my mood the world of good. I really believe in the quote “tidy room, tidy mind”. When my space is messy, I feel a lot more at peace because I know everything is in its place.
PLAN THE NEXT FEW DAYS
When I’m having an off-day, I like to plan my days. I do this because it gives me something to look forward to. I sometimes plan in little life admin days or self-care days where I can get my life back on track a little.
HAVE MY FAVOURITE MEAL
Sometimes having my favourite meal can make me feel loads better. It makes me feel all warm inside and makes my lil’ heart happy. I know that when we’re having a bad day then making food can feel like a little bit of a chore but it takes my mind off of whatever’s getting me down.
Thank you so much for reading. I hope that these tips can help you out when you’re having an off-day, I know they’re simple but sometimes they’re the things we forget. See you tomorrow for a new post. Have a lovely day and stay beautiful.
