Travelling is one of my favourite things to do. I love experiencing different countries and their culture. While I absolutely love holidays where I sit down and do naff all, Liam likes to have a good gander around and not just laze around. We went on a lounging kinda drink by the pool holiday in 2018 so we decided that this year we would have more go on a few more city breaks.
Pretty much since we’ve been together Liam has been telling me that we need to visit Krakow. A few weeks ago we (very compulsively) booked and paid for Krakow ready to go in September. I am super excited because this is my first city break trip to Poland. I’ve been pinning photos from Krakow and Wroclaw for months now so I’m super happy that we’re officially going. We’re staying a really lovely apartment which is nice because we’ll be able to cook our own food while we’re there. There’s also a pizzeria pretty close to where we’re staying so I definitely want to try that out.
Here are a few things I’d like to do while I’m there:
→ Visit Auschwitz – I know this sounds a little morbid but it’s been recommended to me by a few people. Liam and I are both big fans of history so it’s definitely something we’d find interesting.
→ Explore Old Town – Luckily our accommodation is right near Old Town so we can do lots of exploring here. It looks absolutely breathtaking and almost every travel guide I’ve read recommends having a gander.
→ Visit Wawel Castle – Castles are something that I’m obsessed with! It is compulsory for me to visit the castles around me when I travel somewhere new.
Edinburgh has a very special place in my heart as it was the first place that Liam and I ever visited together. We went in July of 2016 and I’ve been badgering Liam to take me back ever since. It’s my 21st birthday in November and I am super lucky because Liam booked us a (not so) surprise trip there for my birthday. I can’t put my finger on what it is that makes me love Edinburgh but it really is my favourite places on the planet. I love the architecture, history and culture than Edinburgh contains. Here is a lil’ list of things I’d like to do while we’re there.
→ Go on The Edinburgh Ghost Bus Tour – I wanted to do this the first time we went but couldn’t convince Liam. So, since we’re going for my birthday, I’ve asked for tickets as a present so he can’t possibly say no now *evil laugh*.
→ Hike Arthur’s Seat – Liam has done this a few times on his visits to Edinburgh and I think, if the weather allows for it, that I might ask to go up with him this time. I’ve heard that the view is absolutely beautiful.
→ Visit Edinburgh Castle – I freaking love castles and we haven’t yet visited Edinburgh Castle together so it would be amazing if we could go while we’re there this time.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post. I’m planning on doing some more travel-y posts when I go on these trips so keep your eyes peeled for that! I’ve never really done travel posts before but I’m super excited to try them!
♡ Where are you travelling to in 2019?
