Hello, there my lovelies! How am I already writing another monthly playlist? This year is going way too fast. Now, I’m going to be 100% honest with you here – May has been a dry month for me. I haven’t found much new music but I promise you it’s not for lack of trying. As I said in April’s playlist video, artists usually hold back on releases now until the summer so they can be in for a shot of being the ‘song of the summer’. Don’t forget to follow me on Spotify so that you can keep up with what I’m listening on the daily.
Childism – Kian
While I was scouring through Liv Vargus’ monthly playlist I found this absolute gem. If you listen with your eyes closed he sounds so much like Khalid which I love. KIAN has such a smooth voice that was made to sing these kinda light, flowy songs with a sick bassline in the back. The lyrics and his voice are so perfect together. KIAN released an EP back in May so give that a listen because it’s incredible. I’m super excited to see what comes from KIAN in the future.
Dear Society – Madison Beer
Madison Beer is freakin’ killing it right now. I love that this song kinda exposes the dark parts of society that we pretend don’t exist. She mentions about societal pressures and unhealthy habits that social media can create. With every song that Madison releases I find myself liking her more and more. I’ve seen that she has an album expected for release this month so I will be reviewing that when it’s come out. This is the second playlist post that Madison has been featured on in a row so you know she’s good.
Truth Hurts – Lizzo
When I heard this, I knew I’d found my new girl power anthem. If you’ve been through a recent break-up, give this a listen and see if you don’t feel a little better. I’m loving the energy in this song about knowing your worth and not letting a partner get you down. It’s such a catchy tune too. I’ll listen to it once and be walking around singing ‘fresh photos with the bomb lighting’ for the rest of the day ahaha.
♡ What song have you had stuck in your head this month?
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything” – Plato.
Until next time,
