When I joined Grow and Glow in August, I promised you I’d start writing more about my niche, personal development, and this is me delivering on that! Personal development is daunting af but it doesn’t need to be. One of my favourite resources is podcasts. They’re free, they’re accessible and they don’t swallow up your time.
I listen to lots of different podcasts on loads of different topics but obviously, personal growth ones are my favourite so here we go, with my fave podcasts for growth.
First off though, I’d like to introduce my new lil’ side project called The Pod Club! The best way I can describe it is that it’s like a book club but for podcasts. Every week we will look at a different podcast and listen to them in our own time, then we will regroup a week later to discuss the podcast and pick a new one.
I can’t say if this is an original idea or not because I never really looked it up but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while so I decided to go for it! The link to the Facebook group is here so feel free to join if you’re interested. Feel free to join the WhatsApp group too, I’ll post the same info in both groups but there will likely be more chats in the WhatsApp group but join whichever you feel most comfortable with! Direct message me on Twitter to be added into the WhatsApp group!
And let’s get on with the post…
Mental Makeover by Lauren Curtis
Mental Makeover is a podcast hosted by the lovely Lauren Curtis. Lauren talks a lot about mindset which I love. She always pops in little anecdotes from her own experiences which adds a really personal twist for me because you know she’s speaking from experience.
Lauren has been on social media since 2011 building her career so she also speaks on topics like how to stop comparing yourself to people on social media and sponsored posts. She also has podcasts on relationships, body image and happiness. If you’re big on mindset shifts then I really recommend that you give Mental Makeover a listen.
This is a relatively new podcast, only having started in May of 2019 so I’m excited to see where Lauren takes it!
Mindful in Minutes by Kelly Smith
Kelly’s podcast is full of episodes that guide you through meditations with different intentions. She has loads of podcasts covering nearly every subject that you can think of. The episodes are usually no longer than twenty minutes so they’re really good to do in the mornings to start off your day.
These are meditation podcasts which I really enjoy because sometimes I find it hard to just sit and meditate so having someone guide me through it is super beneficial to my practice. Kelly has such a soothing voice so it’s easy to relax and let go while listening to her podcast.
This podcast is super good if you’re someone who doesn’t have a lot of time during the day to focus on mindfulness and needs something quick but efficient to help you get those mindful minutes in.
Coffee Talk by Kalyn Nicholson
I’ve loved watching Kalyn Nicholson for a loooong time. She’s one of the first people I watched when I started getting into personal development. Kalyn covers loads of topics from time management to routines to manifestation.
Kalyn is so so wise and her advice is always so good! I love her podcasts because it feels like it’s a friend giving you advice. She’s so personable and easy to listen to. Her podcasts range in length from about 30 minutes up to an hour so I tend to listen to her while on my commute home.
She covers almost everything to do with personal growth so even if you’re only looking for a specific topic to listen to, you can find it in Kalyn’s catalogue. If you’re looking for someone who’s easy to listen to and super laid back then Kalyn is your gal.
Happiness Spells by Amanda Meyncke
Happiness Spells is a podcast that I discovered pretty recently but it’s quickly become one of my favourites. These episodes are only really around five minutes and that works for me. I love listening to these in the morning while I’m waking up because they put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.
Amanda lists off little things and she tells you to either think of when you experienced the things on the list or think about when how that might feel when you get to experience it.
I find this podcast to be such a calming and inspiring experience. Some of the things listed give such a feeling of nostalgia. If you’re looking for a chill, short podcast that will make you feel positive quickly then this is 100% for you.
